What the app does
Sodium Smart helps users record foods, servings, dates, meals, and estimated sodium amounts. It may provide lower-sodium substitution ideas. It is an educational tracking tool and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Information processed
The current local-first version stores food logs and preferences on the device and does not require an account. Depending on the feature used, the app may process food entries, servings, dates, meals, sodium values, custom foods, and barcode numbers submitted for product lookup.
If the app sends a barcode or search request to a food-data provider, that request may be transmitted over HTTPS. Users should check packaged-food values against the current product label.
How information is used
Information is used to calculate daily totals, organize meal history, provide search and barcode lookup, save custom foods, and suggest lower-sodium alternatives. Sodium Smart does not sell food logs or create health profiles for advertisers.
Deletion and retention
Local food logs remain on the device until the user deletes them through the app's clear-data control, clears app storage, or uninstalls the app. Sodium Smart currently does not require account creation or cloud sync. If account features are introduced, account deletion will be available inside the app and through a public web page before those features launch.
Advertising and third parties
The current beta should not include advertising. If advertising, analytics, accounts, cloud sync, or additional SDKs are added, this policy and Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be updated before release. Sodium Smart intends to use contextual advertising and not target users from sodium logs or inferred medical conditions.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards and encrypted transport for network requests where supported. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Children
Sodium Smart is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
